
Jacek Pyżalski
Professor at the Faculty of Educational Studies, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. Originator, principal investigator, and co-investigator of more than sixty national and international research projects, including prestigious international initiatives such as ECIP, EU Kids Online, ySKILLS (Horizon 2020), and Lights4Violence (Horizon 2020). He has represented Poland in five COST Actions of the European Science Foundation. Author of numerous publications, including the first scientific monograph on cyberbullying published in Poland.
Vice President of the Polish Society for Media Education. Member of the Council of the Centre for Citizenship Education and the Programme Council of the Orange Foundation. Member of the Committee on Pedagogical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences and of the Expert Team for Preventing Behavioural Addictions at the National Centre for Addiction Prevention.
He has received multiple awards for his scientific achievements, including the Professor Tomasz Hofmokl Award in the category Information Society (NASK) and the Adam Mickiewicz University Centenary Award for Excellence in Science – Practical Usefulness. He has been listed four times among the “100 People Who Contributed to the Development of Digital Competence in Poland” by the Polish Broad Coalition for Digital Skills (currently on the Honorary List).
He is the initiator and editor of the first Polish handbook on crisis remote education, Edukacja w czasach pandemii wirusa COVID-19. Z dystansem o tym, co robimy obecnie jako nauczyciele. Laureate of the Special Alina Margolis-Edelman Award for outstanding contributions to the welfare of children.
