Marcin Rzeszutek

Psychologist, Gestalt psychotherapist (‘Ośrodek JA’), head of the Trauma Research Laboratory at the Faculty of Psychology, University of Warsaw. https://www.traumalab.pl/en/

Author of numerous scientific papers on the long-term consequences of coping with various traumatic events – from negative childhood experiences, through the trauma of struggling with a terminal somatic illness, to the intergenerational transmission of trauma. He is also interested in issues of post-traumatic growth (PTG), and in particular why some people experience only the ‘dark’ side of traumatic events in the form of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), while others experience post-traumatic growth. As a psychotherapist, he also empirically researches the mental health of psychotherapists, including psychosocial factors that protect against burnout and increase emotional well-being in this profession.
