
Oskar Adamus
Since January 2025, he has served as Head of the Programme Department at Katowice City of Gardens and as the Director’s Representative for Poland’s Capital of Culture 2027.
A graduate of the Jagiellonian University in Cultural Management and a student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. For over ten years, he has been associated with the Katowice City of Gardens organisation, where he co-creates and coordinates projects at the intersection of culture, social research and urban initiatives.
Between 2022 and 2024, he headed the office of the European Capital of Culture 2029 for Katowice and the Metropolis GZM. As part of these activities, he initiated one of the largest studies of the cultural sector in Poland – “Diagnosis of the condition of the cultural sector in the Metropolis GZM”, covering cultural institutions, non-governmental organisations and individuals active in the cultural sector throughout the region.
In his work, he focuses on social research, participatory activities and collaboration with local communities. He is particularly interested in the role of culture in building social relations, strengthening communities and developing cities with the active participation of residents.
