
Agnieszka Popiel
Agnieszka Popiel, MD, PhD, is a psychiatrist, psychotherapist, and psychotherapy supervisor, and professor at SWPS University. She co-directs the SWPS University outpatient CBT clinic and a 4-year postgraduate program School of Cognitive-Behavioural Psychotherapy. She is a co-author of studies on the effectiveness of psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy for PTSD (the results of which are included in the current NICE guidelines—the only Polish psychotherapy study to date included in HTA recommendations for the treatment of mental disorders), PTSD prevention, moderators of outcome and numerous publications on psychotherapy and supervision. She has been involved in the education of psychotherapists for 25 years. Her textbook, "Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy: Theory and Practice" (Warsaw, PWN 2022), received the Władysław Witwicki Award from the Polish Academy of Sciences. Member of the Accreditation Committee of the European Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (EABCT) and the board of the European Association for Clinical Psychology and Psychological Treatment (EACLIPT).
