
Błażej Misiak
Prof. Błażej Misiak, MD, PhD is a specialist in psychiatry and Head of the Department and Clinic of Psychiatry at Wroclaw Medical University, Poland. He is the author of over 200 internationally recognized publications. In the years 2023 – 2025, he was ranked among the top 2% of the most cited scientists in the world (according to the Stanford University ranking in collaboration with Elsevier). He has repeatedly led research projects funded by the National Science Centre and the Ministry of Education and Science. He has received numerous prestigious national and international awards and scholarships, including: the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ECNP Fellowship Award), the Young Investigator Award from the World Federation of Societies of Biological Psychiatry (WFSBP Young Investigator Award), and the START Scholarship from the Foundation for Polish Science (twice). He serves as associate editor for Journal of Affective Disorders and Psychoneuroendocrinology. His clinical and research interests focus on issues related to the social and biological determinants of mental disorders, the application of big data analysis methods in psychiatry (network analysis, machine learning), and early intervention in psychiatry with the focus on psychotic disorders.
