
Radosław Nielek
Director of NASK, one of Poland’s leading research and development centers. For over 30 years, NASK has carried out social and educational initiatives as well as research in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. Having played a pivotal role in connecting Poland to the internet, the Institute now ensures that the network remains accessible and secure for all. Through the Nationwide Education Network (OSE), NASK provides free internet access to 90% of schools across the country. Under the Act on the National Cybersecurity System, CERT Polska operates within the Institute’s structures as one of the three national-level computer security incident response teams (CSIRT).
Radosław Nielek is an engineer and holds a doctorate in computer science. His academic portfolio includes several hundred national and international publication. His research focuses on artificial intelligence, information credibility, machine learning, automated text analysis, and cybersecurity.
Nielek serves as a professor in the Department of Computer Networks and Distributed Systems at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology. He gained research experience both in Poland and during research fellowships at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and Technische Universität Berlin.
He consistently bridge theory and practice: he served as the lead consultant and co-author of the "Information Society Development Strategy for the Silesian Voivodeship 2020+." Recognition of his expert competences is reflected in his long-term tenure as a permanent advisor to the Digital Affairs, Innovation, and Modern Technologies Committee of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland (the lower house of the Polish Parliament).
