
Adam Wichniak
Prof. Adam Wichniak, MD, PhD, is a physician and specialist psychiatrist. He works at the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology in Warsaw, where he serves as the Head of the Third Department of Psychiatry and the Sleep Medicine Center. His scientific research focuses on diagnostic and treatment methods for mental disorders, including schizophrenia, depression, sleep disorders, and neurodevelopmental disorders. In addition to his specialization in psychiatry, he has completed training and obtained a sleep medicine certificate from the Polish Sleep Research Society, a cognitive-behavioral psychotherapist certificate from the Polish Association for Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy, and an EEG license from the Polish Society of Clinical Neurophysiology.
He is a member of the Board and the Treasurer of the Polish Psychiatric Association, Chairman of the Biological Psychiatry Section of the Polish Psychiatric Association, Secretary of the Task Force on Sleep Disorders of the World Federation of Societies of Biological Psychiatry (WFSBP), a member of the Expert Panel on Insomnia of the European Sleep Research Society (ESRS), Chair of the Sleep-Wake Disorders Section of the World Psychiatric Association (WPA), as well as a member of the Board and Secretary of the Polish Sleep Research Society.
