Description of the block
How to identify and neutralize disinformation in a country at the interface of NATO and in the immediate vicinity of active influence operations? Why do intelligent people succumb to false narratives — and how to counter it without deepening polarization? How to protect public trust when deepfakes, “leaks” and emotional half-truths circulate in circulation? These questions will be answered in the course of this thematic block. We will show how to build the information resilience of individuals, teams and institutions — from school and office to company — taking into account the Polish specificity of the frontline state.
Within the framework of this block, we will address - among others - such topics:
The psychology of misinformation — how it works on people — mechanisms of vulnerability, the role of emotions (fear, outrage, feelings of hurt), group dynamics and echo chambers.
Social trust and information security — what disinformation does to social capital in Poland: the erosion of the credibility of institutions, suspicion towards “strangers”, a decrease in willingness to cooperate with citizens.
The context of Poland and hybrid threats — the specificity of the information environment of the country bordering Russia, Belarus and Ukraine: narratives attacking allied unity, energy security and migration issues; escalation scenarios (border crisis, military incident, elections). How to prepare for impersonation campaigns, botnets and deepfakes hitting local communities.
