Anna Zawadzka

Anna Maria Zawadzka is a professor of psychology and Head of the Department of Economic and Organizational Psychology at the Institute of Psychology, University of Gdańsk. She is also a mentor of the Economic Psychology Laboratory at the same institute. From 2009 to 2017, she served as President of the “Child Without Advertising” Association. She is the author of several monographs, including “Why We Become Attached to Brands” and “Entangled in Consumerism. Give a Teenager Happiness”, as well as co-editor of multiple volumes on consumption, well-being, and advertising. Her research focuses on individual and social well-being amid cultural and socio-economic change, with particular emphasis on the social determinants of consumerism and materialism—and ways to counteract them—among youth and adults.
