
Janusz Uriasz
Janusz Uriasz, a marine navigator and Professor at the Maritime University of Szczecin (Poland), specializing in navigation safety, satellite technologies, and maritime competences. He is a member of the Geodesy Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences and serves as President of the Polish Navigation Forum. He has participated, as Poland's delegate, in the International Maritime Organization (IMO) works, contributing to the comprehensive review of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) and related amendments to national legislation. He has been a member of the Polish Accreditation Committee (PKA) since 2012. From 2016 to 2023, he chaired the Section of Engineering and Technical Sciences of the PKA. He has conducted evaluations of higher education institutions in Poland and abroad, including in Bulgaria, Estonia, Georgia, Lithuania, Latvia, Romania, and Ukraine. In 2024, he was elected President of the Polish Accreditation Committee for a four-year term.
