Psychology Education in Poland, 2019–2026: Pathways to the Profession and Challenges in Implementing the Psychologist Profession Act
Description:
How are psychologists educated in Poland? The Psychologist Profession Act, introduced at the beginning of this year, has created a new reality and significant challenges for the education system. Appropriate curriculum standards, well-qualified academic staff, effective supervision, and the promotion of good educational practices are all needed, especially as interest in studying psychology continues to grow — according to the latest edition of the report “Psychology Studies in Poland. Report for the Years 2019–2025”, prepared by researchers from SWPS University, the Jagiellonian University, the University of Warsaw, and Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.
This year’s edition of the report introduces an important new area of analysis: the programme evaluations conducted by the Polish Accreditation Committee (PKA) at universities educating future psychologists. These findings provide new insight into the challenges of ensuring the highest quality of education for future professionals in the field.
