
Magdalena Wilczyńska
Magdalena Wilczynska currently works as Director of the Cyberspace Information Protection Division at NASK-PIB, where she manages teams involved in disinformation analysis and training and educational activities in the field of cybersecurity.
has worked for years on human rights, civil society and democracy. She has extensive experience in studying disinformation. At the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology, she headed a team of analysts who identify, analyze and systematize methods of Russian propaganda in Poland. She was responsible for disinformation research conducted by the TechSoup Foundation in 14 European countries. She also participated in international teams that investigated Russian online manipulation, and was responsible for analyzing Russian disinformation in Poland at Debunk EU and election disinformation at Alliance4Europe, using the DISARM Framework methodology. She was the originator and coordinator of a project on education about disinformation for children and young people - Measure the Information. She was a legal expert at the Office of the Ombudsman, Department of Constitutional, International and European Law. She has dealt with cases in the fields of freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, rule of law and independence of the judiciary. As a researcher at the Jagiellonian University, she participated in the POPREBEL project - Populist Revolt Against Modernity in 21st Century Eastern Europe: neo-traditionalism and neo-feudalism. She is a graduate of Central European University, where she defended her thesis on human rights. She also holds degrees in law and journalism from the University of Warsaw.She is a recipient of the Landecker Democracy Fellowship, Humanity in Action.
