
Michał Bilewicz
Michał Bilewicz is a social psychologist and sociologist, professor at the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Warsaw, where he heads the Center for Research on Prejudice. He is also Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Psychology of the Polish Academy of Sciences and President-Elect of the International Society of Political Psychology. He was a Fulbright Fellow at New York's New School for Social Research and the DAAD at
Friedrich Schiller University of Jena. He was a visiting professor at the University of Leipzig and for many years an affiliated professor at the University of Delaware. His main research interests include the psychology of stereotypes and prejudice, studies of memory, reconciliation, and historical trauma. In 2024, he published the book “Traumaland. Poles in the shadow of the past”, which was distinguished in the Klio competition and was awarded the Witold Pilecki International Prize.
