Patrycja Kałamała-Ligęza
Dr Patrycja Kałamała is an Assistant Professor at the Centre for Cognitive Science at Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland. Her research focuses on the mechanisms of cognitive control from the perspectives of cognitive psychology and neuroscience, with particular emphasis on changes in cognitive processes across the lifespan. In her work, she employs behavioral and neurophysiological methods to investigate how the brain adapts to changing environmental demands. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Illinois, where she studied cognitive aging by examining how cardiovascular health—particularly arterial elasticity—affects brain functioning and cognitive performance. She currently leads projects investigating how contextual variability can support cognitive efficiency in later adulthood.
