
Wojciech Kulesza
Professor Wojciech Kulesza is a social psychologist. He researches:
- the phenomenon of mimicry (i.e., gestures and speech mirroring in human behavior) – related publication: Efekt kameleona. Psychologia naśladownictwa [A Chameleon Effect. The Psychology of Mimicry](2016)
- unrealistic optimism (a conviction that one is less prone to danger than others) – related publication: Social Biases During COVID-19
- medical fake news.
His articles regularly appear in Polish and international journals. He is keen on the popularization of science through his articles in leading Polish weeklies, such as Polityka and Newsweek, and a national daily newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza. He often appears in media to comment on psychology-related topics.
Professor Kulesza was the Chair of an Interdisciplinary Advisory Board for the promotion of education, established by the Minister of Science and Higher Education. He received a scholarship from a Polish weekly magazine Polityka and was a research fellow at the Florida Atlantic University, in the United States (2012-2013). He is a member of the Program Council of Festiwal Nauki w Warszawie (Warsaw Science Festival), a cross-university event popularizing science among general public.
He is a member of the Scientific Council of the Polish Psychological Association.
At SWPS University, he is a thesis advisor for students wishing to focus on topics concerning social psychology and psychology of love.
