Description of the block
The so-called fundamental attribution error consists of attributing certain behaviors to people for the sake of supposedly permanent personality traits. This negates the influence of the situation and the environment and, above all, simplifies the very concept of trait. Are traits innate? To what extent? What does the heritability indicator mean and how to interpret it correctly? Do we realize that coding for a single trait requires hundreds of genes to work together? Can a trait be highly heritable and yet susceptible to modification through training or therapy? Which traits are the most and which are the least heritable? Are there individual traits at all independent of heredity?
