
Olga M. Piaskowska
Professor at the Institute of Law of the SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and an advocate. She currently serves as the Academic Ombudsman at SWPS University. She specializes in civil proceedings and the application of the European Convention on Human Rights. She is also actively involved in research on innovative methods of legal education and is a co-author of a new law school curriculum. For more than 10 years, she worked at the Civil Chamber of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Poland.
Professor Piaskowska has authored and delivered lectures on legal topics related to Polish and European civil law regulations, civil procedure, human rights, and lawyering skills (legal skills). In 2014, she was honored with the "Golden Wings 2014" award by Dziennik Gazeta Prawna for her PhD dissertation. She is also a laureate of the 4th edition of “The Rising Stars Lawyers – Leaders of Tomorrow 2015”.
She earned her master’s degree in law in 2006 from the University of Silesia and completed her PhD in 2013 at the University of Warsaw. In 2022, she earned the degree of doktor habilitowany (habilitation) at SWPS University. She also completed postgraduate pedagogical studies, which provided her with formal teaching qualifications at various educational levels. Currently, she is finishing a second master’s degree in psychology.
Her current research interests include interdisciplinary studies that combine law and psychology, with a particular focus on wellbeing in the legal profession and legal education. As Academic Ombudsman, she handles a wide range of university-related issues, including workplace conflicts, violations of ethical standards by employees, and general employee relations matters.
She is a member of the Polish Association of European Law and the Warsaw Bar Association, and The Association of Law Teachers.
