Description:
This presentation will feature a case study on space in Social Welfare Homes (DPS) and its impact on residents' daily lives. The first part will discuss the operational context of DPS facilities in Poland, the characteristics of their residents, and the main challenges related to space organization. Next, an original design project for changes will be presented, along with a "before and after" example of a realized space, demonstrating the real impact of design on quality of life. The assumptions for planned research on the impact of space on well-being and emotions will also be presented, supplemented with references to scientific studies and existing case studies. Finally, the idea of integrating social projects, such as DPS facilities, into the education of art and architecture students will be outlined as a form of practical social engagement.
