Description:
Girls and women on the autism spectrum often go undiagnosed because their symptoms look different than boys and men — they can hide them better by adapting to their surroundings. This leads to the fact that for years they do not know where their difficulties in social life come from. In addition, a growing body of research also shows that neurodiverse people are more likely than neurotypicals to fall outside the standard gender framework — they identify as non-binary or transgender. Can modern psychology as a science face these challenges?
