The Space of Relationships – From Conflict to Consensus: Designing and Mediating Streets for User Wellbeing
Description:
Join us for an interactive workshop where participants step into the roles of various urban stakeholders to co-create a vision of a street that promotes health, social connections, and safety. Working with a physical scale model, you will navigate the process of uncovering needs and making concrete spatial decisions. This experience views the city not merely as infrastructure, but as an essential environment for daily psychophysical wellbeing.
The session is framed around four key dimensions of wellbeing: pedestrian mobility, psychological restoration, social connections, and safety. Participants will face real-world urban tensions—such as balancing green spaces with parking or quiet zones with commercial activity—while learning how to facilitate dialogue and reach compromises. The final outcome will be a co-created street concept that addresses diverse community needs and reflects how spatial design shapes our quality of life.
