The impact of social media; smartphone use and mental health
Description:
(Over) the use of smartphones or broadly understood electronic devices and the use of social media are seen as risks to mental health, especially in children and adolescents. It is not surprising, then, that this is a topic that is often discussed in the media, popular science articles and books. It is also the subject of political debates and recommendations of social policies. However, are the concerns of educators and, above all, parents supported by the data, and are there really sufficient evidence-based evidence to reduce our contact with screens to a minimum?
