Agnieszka Machnowska

Psychologist, psychotherapist, crisis intervention specialist, certified specialist and supervisor in the field of domestic violence prevention. For over 25 years, she has worked in the field of psychological support for people experiencing violence, psychological crisis, and relational trauma.

She is affiliated with the “Blue Line” of the Institute of Health Psychology of the Polish Psychological Association, where she heads the Level I and Level II Domestic Violence Prevention Training Programme. She is also the co-creator and content manager of 116sos.pl, a 24/7 support platform for adults experiencing psychological crisis.

She graduated in clinical psychology from SWPS University in Warsaw, completed the Professional School of Psychotherapy at the Institute of Health Psychology of the Polish Psychological Association, and the School of Psychological Training and Workshop Practice at the INTRA Centre.

In her professional work, she integrates clinical, crisis intervention, supervisory, and educational perspectives. Her particular area of interest and practice is supporting people harmed by violence and other crimes, especially in the process of regaining safety, agency, and psychological balance after traumatic experiences. She conducts training for specialists and provides supervision and expert consultations for support teams working in the fields of domestic violence and psychological crisis. She has authored articles on supporting people experiencing violence, published, among others, in Niebieska Linia and Świat Problemów.
