Domestic Violence in Poland: Fear and Pain Behind Closed Doors
Description:
Domestic violence remains one of the most serious social and public health challenges in Poland. The session will begin with a presentation by Professor Agata Dębowska from SWPS University, who will present current knowledge on the scale, determinants, and consequences of domestic violence in Poland.
This will be followed by a panel discussion featuring representatives of academia, the justice system, and practitioners involved in preventing domestic violence. Together, participants will examine the measures currently undertaken by the Polish state, assess their effectiveness, and consider what changes are needed to better protect individuals experiencing violence and to prevent it more effectively.
