Agnieszka Szczepek

She is a graduate of the University of Warsaw (microbiology, 1986) and earned her PhD in Medical Sciences from the University of Alberta in 1999. For more than twenty years, she has been based at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Germany, where her basic and clinical research focuses on tinnitus and age-related hearing loss (presbycusis): their pathogenesis and molecular mechanisms, the psychological and cognitive conditions that often accompany them, and emerging therapeutic approaches.

She has authored about 150 peer-reviewed papers and co-authored or co-edited ten books, including Tinnitus and Stress.
