Katarzyna Kęcka

Vice-Ministry of Health, President of the Management Board of the Hospital Medical Center in Goleniów, Doctor of Health Sciences, specialist in cardiac nursing, academic lecturer, and expert in the professional competencies of medical staff.

She is a graduate of the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin, where she also completed postgraduate studies in public health – marketing and management in healthcare, and geriatrics with elements of long-term care and palliative medicine. For many years, she has been involved in teaching and research as a lecturer and assistant at the Department of Primary Healthcare at the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin. Since 2013, she has focused on nursing competencies, authoring and co-authoring numerous publications and textbooks in the field of nursing. From 2018 to 2023, she served as the Chairwoman of the Polish Nursing Society, Szczecin Branch, actively contributing to the development of the professional community of nurses and midwives.

As a practitioner and a member of the State Examination Board at the Center for Postgraduate Education of Nurses and Midwives, she has for years participated in the postgraduate education process for nurses and midwives, conducting specialized and qualification courses. She is the initiator and co-organizer of many educational and health projects, including initiatives aimed at seniors and projects in telemedicine and e-health.

Since 2019, combining her experience as a manager, an active professional nurse, and an academic lecturer, she has consistently promoted the idea of interdisciplinary collaboration among medical teams in patient care. In her work, she emphasizes the importance of effectively utilizing the competencies of all medical professions to improve the quality and safety of healthcare. The Hospital Medical Center in Goleniów, which she leads, has been repeatedly recognized for innovative initiatives and quality projects implemented in hospital practice.

In 2022, she was honored in the 'Polish Woman of the 21st Century' competition in the 'Health' category for her efforts in women's health prevention. Since 2024, she has served as the Chairwoman of the Team for Competencies and Qualifications of Medical Professions at the Polish Hospital Federation.
