Katarzyna Skałacka
Professor at the University of Opole, is a psychologist and ageing researcher. Her research examines the factors that shape quality of life in older age -- from social relationships and perceived attractiveness, to physical activity, to new technologies supporting mental health in later life. She is the author of over 30 peer-reviewed publications in international journals and a monograph on active ageing. She has received numerous research awards and leads international research projects( ie. with the Czech Science Foundation). She currently heads the development of a pioneering AI-based initiative to help counteract loneliness among older adults.
