Description:
We have long known that too short or poor quality sleep is one of the symptoms of anxiety disorders and depression. Healthy sleep, on the other hand, is a resource that has positive effects on almost all aspects of our lives; people who get enough sleep regularly are healthier and feel better. Sleepy teens and college students show better academic achievement and higher attendance. Healthy sleep also has a positive effect on peer and partner relationships, where people with higher sleep quality are more empathetic and more effective at resolving conflicts. However, compared to the knowledge about the benefits of a healthy diet or physical activity, a large part of society still underestimates or is unaware of the crucial role sleep plays in human life.
