
Anna Miśniakiewicz
Architect and Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Architecture, Wrocław University of Science and Technology. Her research focuses on the social role of architecture, Universal Design, spatial accessibility, and the design of environments supporting healthy and active ageing societies. She is a co-initiator of the Universal Design Laboratory at Wrocław University of Science and Technology and a certified accessibility auditor authorised to certify architectural accessibility.
Her research lies at the intersection of architecture and urban design, ergonomics, and human-centered design. She participates in national and international research projects funded, among others, by the European Union (Horizon 2020, LIFE), the National Science Centre (NCN), and the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA). She has undertaken international research, teaching and design fellowships at academic and design institutions in Spain and Switzerland, and was a Visiting Researcher at the Stanford Center on Longevity at Stanford University. She is also involved in European projects related to inclusive design (URBAN-ACCESS) and sustainable construction (LIFE BE-WoodEN).
Alongside her academic work, she is active as a practicing architect and collaborates with non-governmental organisations on socially oriented projects. She co-organises initiatives promoting science and barrier-free architecture, including conferences, workshops and educational activities. She is the author of scientific publications on age-friendly architecture and spatial accessibility.
